ABOUT US
The People Behind the Mission
For more than a decade, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners have worked together to help children across the Twin Cities sleep well and thrive.
Why We Exist
More Than a Bed
Every child deserves a safe and comfortable place to sleep.
A bed can provide more than a place to rest—it can offer stability, dignity, and a sense of belonging during times of housing instability.
That's why we work alongside volunteers, donors, and community partners to help children sleep well, feel secure, and thrive.
OUR MISSION
To provide new beds and linens to children of families who have recently secured stable housing.
OUR VISION
All children should have a bed so they can sleep well, dream, and find comfort in a place of their own.
What Guides Our Work
The children and families we serve come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are committed to creating an organization where every child, family, volunteer, partner, and supporter is treated with dignity, respect, and belonging.
Our values and commitments shape how we serve children and families, work alongside community partners, and strive to create a more equitable future.
Our Values
Relationships First
We believe meaningful change happens through trusted relationships, collaboration, and community partnership.
Respect & Dignity for All
Every child, family, volunteer, and partner deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and belonging.
Open to Growth & Improvement
We listen, learn, and continually improve our programs, policies, and practices.
Our Commitment to Racial Equity
Sleep is a foundational resource with many long-term health benefits, yet systemic inequities continue to affect access to stable housing, resources, and opportunities for many children and families. We recognize that a disproportionate number of the children we serve come from historically marginalized communities.
As we work to ensure every child has a safe and comfortable place to sleep, we are committed to advancing racial equity within our organization and throughout our community by:
✓ Treating everyone with dignity and respect
✓ Listening to and learning from the diverse experiences of the children, families, volunteers, and partners we serve
✓ Examining our policies, practices, and decision-making to identify and address barriers to equity
✓ Building partnerships that reflect and strengthen the communities we serve
✓ Embracing opportunities for growth, learning, and continuous improvement
✓ Holding ourselves accountable through measurable goals, transparency, and ongoing evaluation of our progress
We know this work is ongoing. By listening, learning, and working together, we strive to create a more equitable future where every child has the opportunity to sleep well, feel secure, and thrive.
